Do you want to remove excess body fat? In the following article I’m going to cover two keys to getting rid of the fat that is hiding the real you, the lean you from the rest of the world. Those two keys are: Exercise and diet.

Key #1 - Exercise

Exercise is important, period. You need to raise your heart rate, increase your blood flow, get oxygen into the body, and sweat out toxins. Exercise will help you to accomplish all of those things. You need a good routine and a good plan. The routine doesn’t have to be extreme; it just has to be intense enough to make sure you burn fat and calories. Above all it has to be done on a consistent basis.

It is important that you seek the guidance of a personal trainer or do your own research to develop an exercise routine that is appropriate for your fitness level, personality, and lifestyle. Your routine should help you to burn fat, but at the same time build lean muscle. It will be important that you participate in weight training as well as cardiovascular exercise on a regular basis. Both are equally important to your exercise routine. One common exercise routine is to do weight lifting on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and to do cardio on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Sunday is used as a day of rest to allow your body to rest and recuperate.

Building muscle is your secret weapon to use in the fight against burning fat. The more muscle that you have the more fat will be burned on a daily basis.

Key #2 - Diet

Exercise is not the only key to your success with weight loss. Your diet is an important factor too. A well balanced diet is important to aiding in the building of muscle. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so it is essential to eat a diet that will feed the muscles and help them grow.

The foods that you choose to eat should be rich in high quality lean meats. These lean meats will provide the protein necessary to build muscle. Your diet must also consist of enough carbohydrates and minerals too. Proteins, carbohydrates, and minerals are essential nutrients that are the “building blocks” of creating a body that will be a fat burning, muscle building machine. Try to eat plenty of complex carbohydrates. These consist of natural fruits and vegetables.

You also must insure that you drink sufficient amounts of water every day. Drink at least 8, 8 ounce glasses of water daily. Keeping the body hydrated will aid in muscular performance, digestion, and the elimination of waste products from the body.

Also important is to get a proper amount of rest. This differs from person to person, but a general rule of thumb is to ensure that you get anywhere from 5 - 8 hours of sleep each night.

At the end of the day it’s just simple. Your weight loss, fat reduction, and the development of lean muscle mass depend on your exercise regimen and your diet. Persistence is the key. A proper diet and exercise program must be adhered to on a daily basis. If you follow through you will be rewarded with the body of your dreams!
